This seminar gives an overview of the importance of U-Values how they effect a building's thermal efficiency and the risk of condensation and how to negate this. This session will last approximately 45 minutes face-to-face with 15 minutes of questions.
Learning Outcomes:
- Choosing the right insulation for your needs.
- Understanding the principles of heat transfer and thermal bridging.
- Learning what are Lambda, R-values and U-values.
- Understand that as warm moist air cools, it can hold less moisture – and can lead to condensation on cool surfaces.
- Position insulation, AVCLs and breather membranes according to basic principles.
- Calculation methods have limitations and use assumptions – seek competency.
