Insulation boards do the heavy lifting — but a flat roof's long-term performance, watertightness and compliance rely on every element of the build-up working together. Ancillary items close the gaps, manage the transitions and protect the vulnerable details that standard boards simply cannot address.
What happens without the right ancillaries
The most common causes of flat roof failure are not defects in the primary insulation — they are failures at the details. Junctions, edges, penetrations and drainage transitions are where problems begin, and they are precisely the locations that ancillary items are designed to protect.
